Tomatoes

Jared and I just recently harvested tomatoes from our garden! Finally, they turned red! It's been a long, long wait, but definitely worth it. I love this first shot of the tomatoes in the colander, with the sunshine coming through. I think I like photographing food, just as much as I like eating it.

Reflection

While organizing some photos, I came across this gem. I took this shot while I was in Vegas this last March. The blue sky and distorted reflections make for an interesting shot. I must say, I don't really feel like I have a photo style. I feel like my photography completely reflects my mood and whose blog I looked at that day. I find other photographers so inspiring! Yay for the internet!

Eli Senior Photos

I just had to post a couple shots of Eli! He is my friend Laura's son and I had a great time with them both! We did a pretty quick shoot, as it got dark fast, but our main goal was to get a nice head shot for his yearbook. We managed to get a couple of other cool shots in the process. I busted out my Bowens lighting system because I shoot a lot with natural light and it's fun to switch it up. I really want to continue to learn how to mix artificial light with natural. Thanks Eli and Laura for making it fun!

The classic yearbook photo! :)

Baby Bear

I had the opportunity to photograph a darling little boy named Bear on July 31, 2010. Although I do not own a medium format camera, I have cropped these in square format, because I wish I did! Photographing in squares can be so much fun, plus it's a unique way to display the photos on your wall. Chana and Ty are proud parents of this sweet little baby and it was so great to work with them. I love when I meet a couple for the first time and it feels like we're all ready friends. They were more than gracious and helpful during the shoot. I couldn't have asked for a cooler couple or a cuter baby! I mean just look at his little, pouty, lower lip! :)

Nik & Lindsey Wedding

Nik & Lindsey were married on July 3, 2010 at the Lake Union Crew Club. I really had a hard time deciding which photos to include in this post, as there were too many wonderful moments to choose from!!

First, I met up with Lindsey at the Grand Hyatt to photograph her getting ready. Side note...I LOVED her shoes! When Lindsey put on her dress, I was completely choked up; she looked stunning! Once finished there,  I went over to the Crew Club and met up with my cousin Kirby, who was my assistant for the day.  I have to give him big props for all of his help! (He captured the shot of Nik and Lindsey "sword" fighting with oars.) Thank you Kirby!!!

Nick and Lindsey are madly in love and were so fun to photograph! The reception was full of dancing, heartfelt toasts, and laughs. I even found myself dancing while I was photographing. (Awesome, right?) Thank you Nik and Lindsey for being an inspiring couple and contagiously happy! Congrats!

Travel

Recently, Jared and I went on a road trip around Washington state. I was hired to produce portraits of different business owners in Colfax, Tri-Cities and Vancouver. I will post the portraits at a later time, but here are my favorite shots from our travels. Jared was such a HUGE help and I can't thank him enough. We live in a beautiful state! I made Jared pull the car over a 100 times to stop and take photos. I just couldn't get enough.

Landon & Ava

It is such a treat when I have the opportunity to photograph little ones. Our friends Grant and Brittany were blessed with twins on May 13th. I could not believe how tiny and precious they were. We did a shot with Grant and Brittany's wedding rings on their feet and it made me realize how incredibly small they were. They had the cutest expressions, which changed constantly. I'm so excited to watch them grow!

Tony & Nicole Engagement Photos

Tony and Nicole are getting married in August 2010. Considering how much fun we had during this session, I can't wait for the wedding! We started out in SoDo and ended up in a field in Renton! At one point Tony and Nicole jumped onto a semi-moving train! (Which made me SO nervous, but it rocked!) This couple was so madly in love; I really didn't have to say much as far as posing goes! Yay! Tony would do something goofy and then Nicole would crack up! It was wonderful watching them interact. Huge props goes to them for restoring their vintage tandem bicycle. Great people, great clothes, great backgrounds and great props. Awesome.

Braelyn Senior Photos

I had so much fun photographing Braelyn! It's been a while since my last senior session and I'm extremely pleased with the outcome. Braelyn is adorable and has the cutest dimple! Kara, Braelyn's mom, was a huge help, as it was very windy that day.  I couldn't have done it without her! Thank you both so much for allowing me to do what I love! Congratulations Braelyn!

Grant & Brittany

I had the opportunity to photograph our friends Grant and Brittany who are expecting TWINS!! YAY! I am so excited for them and I can't wait to meet Landon and Ava. Yes, they are having a boy and a girl! Isn't Brittany such a cute momma?! Don't worry Grant, you're cute too. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.
