Tomatoes

Jared and I just recently harvested tomatoes from our garden! Finally, they turned red! It's been a long, long wait, but definitely worth it. I love this first shot of the tomatoes in the colander, with the sunshine coming through. I think I like photographing food, just as much as I like eating it.

Reflection

While organizing some photos, I came across this gem. I took this shot while I was in Vegas this last March. The blue sky and distorted reflections make for an interesting shot. I must say, I don't really feel like I have a photo style. I feel like my photography completely reflects my mood and whose blog I looked at that day. I find other photographers so inspiring! Yay for the internet!

Travel

Recently, Jared and I went on a road trip around Washington state. I was hired to produce portraits of different business owners in Colfax, Tri-Cities and Vancouver. I will post the portraits at a later time, but here are my favorite shots from our travels. Jared was such a HUGE help and I can't thank him enough. We live in a beautiful state! I made Jared pull the car over a 100 times to stop and take photos. I just couldn't get enough.

Tulip Festival

Recently, Jared and I went with our friends Hans and Catherine to the Mount Vernon Tulip Festival. The following reasons explain why it was a lovely day.

1. COLOR! Wow! The variety of tulips was brilliant.

2. SUN! This needs no explanation.

3. PHOTOS! Not only did Hans and Catherine let me try out their new lens, but they brought their Polaroid camera too!

4. OLD SCHOOL BUS! There was a random old bus hanging out in the field. Hans took my favorite pic of all time of Jared and I in the side mirror!

Warning, the following photos might make you smile.

Sun Flare & Cynthia

This Saturday was SO SUNNY!! My cousin Kirby and I decided to do a photo shoot for fun. He convinced his friend Cynthia to be our model and she did an amazing job. Cynthia is such a sweet girl and it sounds like she has an ambitious future ahead of her. Thank you Cynthia, you look amazing in these shots! Kirby is in high school and taking a photography class. He is like my little grasshopper and I am teaching him what I have learned thus far in my photography career. He has a great eye and I'm so excited for him to help me on future shoots. I was talking to him about sun flare... it seems to be the thing to do lately in all of the photo blogs that I read. I love the look, but I haven't been able to get it down. I had Kirby give it a try and WHAM...the most awesome sun flare photo was created. His composition is wonderful! I love it! See below. We decided it was his lens that did the trick for the "flarey" effect. I've now decided to buy a cheap lens for this purpose. I can't believe that was all I need! It was good day.

Photo by Kirby Littlefield. Edited by Me.

Look how cute! Thanks Kirby & Cynthia!

Chinese New Year!

Jared and I met up with our friends, Seren & Jimmy, to go to the Chinese New Year Celebration last weekend. The drums were AMAZING and the children couldn't be CUTER! Seren always knows of fun things to do around town, view her travel blog here. I am proud to live in a city where a little rain never cancels an event! Although, it would have been nice to have the sun come out.....but....it's Seattle.

Grandma Clara’s Farm

While taking my sister's engagement photos at my Grandma's house in Sultan, I felt like a kid again! Going to Grandma's house was the best when I was little! As children, we got to see the owl in the silo, hang in the loft of the barn while playing hike & seek, ride the horses and drive the four wheeler in the fields! What great memories! Here are some fun shots of the farm after my sister's shoot was done.

It's Me! Just hanging on the fence... I Love those clouds behind me!

Testing lighting prior to shooting. Jared likes to goof around and be my sassy model. So handsome!!

Drive By Shooting

Over the holidays, we left  Seattle to visit the Olympia area. We love being in the city, but visually, its nice to see the city from a different view. These photos were taken while driving home. I'm practicing shooting while in the car; don't worry Jared was driving, I was the passenger, haha.

Sleepy Lola

Jared and I have two cats. Yes, we are cat people. Actually, we are animal people. This is Lola. She is "my kitty". She has the best personality! I love, love, love the positions she ends up in when she is sleeping.
